Before falling asleep last night I decided to smoke some medium-grade weed to see if it helped with meditation more than the high-grade weed I've been smoking. The reason for this is because all of the high-grades around here are body highs, which means they have a good THC/CBD ratio rather than the mostly-THC head highs of the medium-grades. Since THC works through CB1 receptors which colocalize with and also indirectly stimulate D2 receptors, I figured this would be a much better bet for achieving a dream state; THC-dominant strains also make me hornier and trip harder in a psychosis kind of way, all evident of dopaminergic effects. The CBD strains have anti-THC action and then add their own serotonergic effects, which is wonderful for getting high and probably even for meditating in a non-dream-related way, but that's not what I'm looking for here. The outcome was pretty successful, I didn't achieve a WILD or OBE or anything because I'm inexperienced and it was right before going to bed originally, but the vibrations did get very strong, I felt warm and tingly all over and I had basically melted into the flat surface of my bed. I also used a light machine the first 10 minutes of it, and that created some pretty intense patterns that were pushing the high into complex visuals like cascading faces. After I finally pulled myself out of that, I fell asleep. Dream Fragment - "Flying in a jungle with N, commemorative dollar coins with jokes written on them, school/mall food court, Facebook, talking about shared dreaming?" Lucid Fragment IV [DILD] I remember becoming lucid based on the fact that something I said didn't make much sense, but I don't really remember what it was now. This wasn't an "oh no, another lucid lost to a fragment!" dream, I was just really tired when I woke up and I didn't think it was interesting enough to merit taking the effort to write it down. Yeah, I was feeling lazy. Jello Cubes And Drugs [Non-Lucid] In an auditorium, I was in a new class with lots of confusing things going on, and my mom was sitting next to me in some kind of stadium seating. She had stopped talking after some red jello energy cube showed up next to us. I was pretty high and I started playing with it, unsure of what exactly it was. I was also talking to some really drug-dealer-stoner-looking guy about a new powerful drug I was planning to synthesize, and my description was complete with cartoony breakthrough visuals with bugs and galaxies and veins and blood vessels and etc., and I was saying it could basically either make you trip balls or it could kill you, we just don't know yet. The visual was pretty intense! That part of the conversation happened as we were walking through a hallway somewhere after leaving the auditorium, but I can't remember much after that now. First Experiment [Sleep Paralysis] After I woke up I got on DV and checked new threads for probably not longer than five or ten minutes. Upon checking the Post pictures of sexy hawt females thread, it occurred to me that I still hadn't officially reset my counter to zero for the one month of no masturbation challenge, and I was finally in the mood to do so. So that was fun.... Afterwards I thought about how long it had been since I originally woke up, and decided what better than now for a WBTB experiment? I got out my bong and smoked some more of my medium-grade weed, then positioned myself lying on my back in the bed, facing up. At first I just felt extremely relaxed and zoned out. Then I started getting some mild hypnagogia coupled with delirium, i.e. thinking it was actually happening, but only a little bit. The first thing I remember is repeatedly thinking that I was walking into my bathroom and looking into the mirror, but still being faintly aware that I was really still in bed. There was more than that, but it's hard to remember now. After a while I got lazy and intended on giving up, so I flipped over to my side. Suddenly, there was a large number of things going on in the room. First, the TV was on, I couldn't see it but I could hear it quite clearly. I don't remember what was being said. Second, my cat was meowing loudly in my room, and I couldn't see him either. Third, my mom was telling me something about my cat which I don't remember now. Same story, heard but not seen. And fourth, I was on DV talking to StaySharp about everything that was happening. Throughout all of this I was aware that this wasn't actually happening, except for the thing about DV. I was able to completely open my eyes and think at least somewhat lucidly. "Okay... I can't move.... So I'm in sleep paralysis? Alright then." With eyes open everything was dreamy and extremely distant, as if it was being perceived but not really processed. I looked at my laptop (which wasn't even actually there) and saw it start floating around the room, shrinking and growing in only one direction as it did so. There was a mild sense of "That's not right....", and then I closed my eyes again. I was back in my bathroom, looking in the mirror. This image wasn't completely solid, it was like 90-95% there, basically enough for it to be a fully structured dream sequence but with me still maintaining bodily awareness. I had a baby carrier positioned on me so that the baby would be in front of me, covering my chest and stomach, but there was no baby in it. Instead, there were two long, feminine, and beautiful legs protruding downward from somewhere in it that's hard to recollect now. I could also hear the voice of my cousin K talking about how I was going to turn into her or something, but I think it might have been more of my train of thought than something that was actually happening. This weirded me out a bit and, without fully comprehending the situation, I decided that I'd had enough of this. I opened my eyes again and just stared at the wall with the intention of ending the whole experience, and before long the dreamy feeling faded away, and I could move again. I'll certainly be using this weed for more experiments in the future!

First DJ Entry| First WBTB/SP attempt | 6.4.12 Into: Let me start off by saying that I finished writing all of this and then I accidentally hit the backspace button and it went to the previous page and I lost all of the info i just typed ok so here I go again. This is my first DJ entry, but I also have started keeping entries in one that I keep by my bed. Last night I went to bed at 12midnight got a good 8 hours of sleep. I have a playlist on my Ipod which allows me to set alarm beeps to go off during my REM cycles. I decided to try a WBTB method, but instead of staying up for a while before going back to sleep I stayed completely still with my eyes shut and tried to enter SP before trying to enter into a LD. This is the first time I tried to do this. Even though I didn't end up becoming lucid, I still believe I had some success. Now onto my dream.. Part I I was on my way to my brother David's wedding (he was just recently married in real life). I was outside in some sort of field at first with some of my other family members, but eventually it was time to go to the reception my sister drove me, David and one of my other brothers through the field. She was driving pretty crazily and swerving all throughout the field, and I kept making comments on her driving. She parked the van and then we all went inside. I could tell my comments about her driving had made her upset, and once we were inside I apologized a few times to her and then everything was ok. Then we were in the place where we had had the rehearsal dinner, and I was sitting next to my mom. I had my laptop out on the table for some reason while we were waiting for the food and I was checking my facebook. Then I noticed my mom was trying to look at my fb I could see her squinting her eyes like she was trying to read something on the status feed. I then looked at my facebook and got the feeling that someone had hacked it and put up stuff that I had not posted. I don't know exactly what it was, but I got the feeling that my mom wouldn't understand why the hacked stuff was on my computer so I started closing out the windows that were open. I thought there was only one window at first but then I realized there were a few as soon as I closed the first one. It was soon after this that I woke up from the alarm beeps that I had set. At this point beeps would go off every 2 minutes for 8 minutes to keep help try and keep my mind awake but my body asleep. So once I realized that I was awake, I kept my eyes shut and focused on keeping my breathing the same as when I was sleeping. After a few min I think I started to enter SP. I tried not to think of anything specific, but instead I wanted to just let random thoughts come to me. I felt like I was moving in and out of SP, and all I was seeing was darkness then out of nowhere I saw a vivid metallic green colored circular geometric shape. Now it didn't look exactly perfect and it wasn't a maze, but it was similar to this picture I made on photoshop today: then after that I saw some quick cloud like visuals that looked something like this: I remember being excited about what I had just saw and I reminded myself to write them down when I woke up later on. At that point I felt too tired, and I knew the beeps that had been keeping me up were gone so I decided to just give into sleep. While I was doing this I kept thinking about the visuals that I had just witnessed, and all of the sudden I think this is where I slipped back into dreaming.. Part II I got this feeling of moving forward, and I compared it to the feeling of driving in a car really fast. Then I was thinking it would be easier to enter SP if I was actually in a car while trying it and someone else was driving me.( I’m not sure when the thoughts started and the visuals started, but the next thing I know..) My best friend Scotty was driving me at night on this road that curved and in my dream I was trying to enter SP. When it didn’t work we continued to drive until I had him drop me off on the sidewalk, and I started to walk towards downtown State College. I continued walking the same direction scotty had been driving me and then I noticed a group of runners in white shorts and shirts behind me. Instead of getting out of their way I decided to see if I was still in shape which I soon found out that I wasn’t. I only ran for like 30 seconds, and I could hear them running up close behind me. I heard them making fun of me for how slow and out of shape I was. Then I had to rest so I moved out of the way and sat down on the grass next to the sidewalk to catch my breath. As the runners passed I yelled “YOU LOOK AMAZINGG!” at them, but I said it sarcastically because I guess I thought they looked stupid in their all white running clothes. I guess I was just mad that they made fun of me and that they were right. Then I got back up and continued on my way, and soon I was downtown looking around at the different bars and restaurants. I stopped at a couple different ones, but I didn’t order anything even though I wanted to. And that was the end.
First, a couple fragments from yesterday. Dream Fragment - "At a bookstore, attempting to find a small book that's apparently given to girls starting college that rarely contains a Winged Dragon of Ra (Sphere Mode) Yu-Gi-Oh! card. I was unsuccessful, basically just wandering through a large crowd of DCs the whole time." Dream Fragment - "Talking about American Dad!, thinking about speed, and watching some star stuff song video but with women talking about speed and alcohol." And now for last night. Dream Fragment - "Smoking weed and browsing DV = bloated." #1 - Huffing Gasoline [DILD] I was at some building/junkyard or something with my dad, and I had the strangest feeling that I was a little kid again, even though I still felt like I was in my normal-sized body. I started to think that my life had completely started over and I was living it as a kid again. My dad distracted me with something about some jug of gasoline or something that a woman he was talking to was holding, and without really thinking about it I took a big whiff of it. My head immediately went very fuzzy and I stood up, but was very disoriented. I started getting some intense Alice in Wonderland syndrome, everything around me shrunk to at least less than half of its original size, generally more, except for my dad who was still at his normal height relative to me. Around this time I became mildly lucid, but not enough to really appreciate it, I just sort of knew this wasn't really happening. I wandered off into another room and opened up a file cabinet, and I don't really remember what happened next. My memory is clearest again when I became fully lucid, but I could tell the dream was ending anyway so I didn't really try to save it. #2 - DH's Shenanigans [Non-Lucid] I was in a huge mall parking lot or something somewhere with DH and a few other people, as well as several other people hanging out in cars around us. I was standing behind my own car while DH and the others were sitting in the back. Suddenly the car started backing up all on its own and almost rammed us into the car behind us. Thankfully it stopped though, and the other people were a bit freaked out and left. DH climbed into the driver's seat and I went up to the passenger seat and asked him what he was doing and he said he was going to go drift in the empty part of the parking lot where there was a lot of rain, in my SUV. I told him he was just going to get us killed or something, but he laughed and did it anyway. It was fun, I must say. >w< Somehow this transitioned to me being in a classroom with lots of kids I knew in school, particularly high school. I was sitting at a computer up against a wall next to lots of other people, but I can't really remember what I was trying to do. This girl SS (the friend of the other SS who we smoked with, for my own self-reference so I know who the hell I'm talking about) comes up to me and grabs my legs and holds them up in the air between her own legs. She's being friendly but I can't remember what she was saying, and then this guy CW walks up to me and starts talking about how DH really likes some rehab center that I went to (that I never actually went to) because you still get to do drugs there. Suddenly I think to start looking through my phone for DH's phone number, partially to text him and partially to look busy to get rid of SS and CW, but they just stick around. CW starts smashing his face into mine and on to the keyboard, which in addition to the legs thing with SS made this all a very awkward situation. In the end I finally found his number, but they still wouldn't leave me alone. That's about where it ended. #3 - Unusual Druggie Group [Non-Lucid] I was hanging out with my cousins P and G and some random little girl and older guy. We were in a hotel room of some kind I believe, and G and the little girl were both tripping on something while I was on ecstasy. I had little more than a pleasant body high, and P seemed concerned that I wasn't really feeling much. He tried to convince me to take another tab that he had, but I pointed out that it was different than the one I had taken and told him that I don't mix tabs. Apparently my cousin K had also been there but left and G couldn't understand why, and the older guy was telling him that he was just oblivious to her emotions and she was clearly upset about something, and he said what that was but I can't remember it now. I told P we should smoke some weed if he wants me to be more fucked up, so he got up and loaded a joint but didn't roll it yet. When he walked away, some other guy that we were apparently hanging out with now stole just a tiny amount of weed out of the joint and I called him on it. We got into an argument and suddenly the dream fell apart and got sort of confusing, and I fell on my back and felt paralyzed, but wasn't overly concerned about it. The little girl ran up to me and as she did she turned into a dog, and I was afraid that she was going to lick my armpit and it'd be insanely ticklish while I'd just be stuck there not being able to move or do anything about it. However shortly afterward everything I was seeing melted into my room, and I was fully awake.
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening (...) at around 4 am I get up and go back to bed. I can clearly feel the sleep paralysis settling in. I am lying down on my belly, I have my eyes semi-open, there is a dim light in the room and I can see my pillow when I start having auditory hallucinations. Soon I will have visual hallucinations too, so a thought comes to my mind about the demon boy that sometimes haunts me in SP. I then feel his presence. Before fear installs, I project that he will come to love me and not to hurt me. But if the legends of incubus are correct, I shouldn't have directed him in that direction... I feel his weight over me, his hands touching me and I squeack when he penetrates me, almost violently. I only get to see him by the corner of my eye, he looks devilishly teasing and it becomes quite pleasurable. It was a strange feeling not to know anymore if the bed, the sheets and even the cat sleeping at my feet were already the dream version or the real version with the hallucination on top.
Posting this late, but last night I had my second successful LD, after having read a lot on this site several hours before. On both of my lucid dreams that I've had, (WILD) I start to float around my bedroom, then do a few checks to make sure I'm dreaming. Last night after I checked the light switch, I opened my window and floated around outside, and decided to fly, and immediately rocketed up into the night, which promptly caused me to plunge into darkness and forget what I was doing and why. I immediately ended up in the mudroom of my house, and had somewhat of a false awakening. I wasn't sure if I was still dreaming, and then my dad came up to me and started talking about my finances. Because I had mentioned to him previously that I have been attempting lucid dreaming, and he seemed to think the idea strange, I decided not to discuss that I had just been flying around outside in a lucid dream. Despite the fact that I could remember being outside flying just before I was speaking to him, for some reason I lost my lucidity and I remember thinking this is real, I'm awake. Shortly after, I came around, back in my bed, obviously, and realized that I probably could have kept things going had I used better tactics and dream stabilization. Maybe I'll fare better tonight. Or rather right now . . .
[Today i succeeded with a WILD, but sadly couldn't keep up the dream for some reason, it fell apart 3 times, then i couldn't go back anymore] [This dream occured later at around 9:30AM with DILD] In the beginning, i got lucid on a street in my city, but i immediately found myself in my room for some reason. Just like often in my dreams, my room was really dark again, so my first thought was that i need to get outside. Before i could get out though, i woke up 2 times in a row, thanks to the darkness. [I could go back both times with DEILD]. When i was sure the dream is more stable and the room was less dark, i decided to fly through the window, just as usual, but then something stopped me in this. I noticed a little girl standing near my bed, staring at me. [There is nothing that freaks me out more than children that act weird/scary]. I couldn't see anything unusual on her, she wasn't deformed or anything, but for some reason i felt like she is evil. I suddenly turned around and flew through the blinds and glass, got outside. I was still floating in the air and looked around a little. I noticed that there is a teenager girl outside, playing with a horse, they were chasing eachother and the girl kept laughing. I decided not to care much about her, but as i flew by she looked at me confusedly. I thought i'll just fly away from there, since i don't want to be close to that freaky child. At first i decided to fly with swimming moves, but then i changed over to a mental controlled flying, just like superman I went up as high in the air as i could, but for some reason the sky looked like it's made of paper or something... I looked around and noticed huge forests on both sides, the trees touched the sky. There was a grassy field in the middle, with a fruit tree plantation in the very middle of the whole place. I enjoyed the scenery, even while it was a little weird. I wanted to shout a "Wooohooo!" out loudly as i was flying around, but my voice turned out to be throaty and deep for some reason... It sounded weird, so i tried again. This time it was better, but still not that good, so i stopped. I got to the end of the grassy field, where some kind of station were built, but it was covered with forest trees on both sides, like there is no other escape from this place. [Now that i think about it, the whole place looked like a dollhouse or something, because it was closed on all sides and even the sky looked like it was made of paper]. For some reason i didn't feel like that station is a good way to go, so i turned around and flew back to the fruit trees. I decided to stop and get back to the ground here. Just as i reached the ground, i looked back to the house where i came from, it wasn't our house, it looked like a toy and it was pink. Just as i was looking at the house, i noticed that little child coming out of the house. She passed by the teenager girl with the horse, who then asked the little child: - Can you come and play? - Not now, i have to finish something first. Okay, that was enough for me to know that "something" is me, as she slowly walked in my direction. I got even more scared now.. i couldn't even think straight.... [Don't blame me, i really can't stand scary childen ]. I was thinking of a way to escape this place, but i forgot that station... I decided to wake up in this hurry... It seems like i succeeded. I was in my bed. I got up and wanted to go out of my room immediately as it was dark in there. I thought about turning on the lights first though. I pushed the switch and nothing happened. Now i knew it already... must be a false awakening. I tried to turn the switch on more, but it didn't work. Then suddenly i heard that child again, she said "Me so so?" That voice was just too much for me... it sounded like a normal little girl voice, but there was something behind it, i could just feel it.. something evil. I woke up myself again intentionally. I was in sleep paralysis, which is nothing new to me. I wanted to get out of it fast, but i forgot the slow breathing, because that child was still in my mind. Of course i unintentionally brought her into my hallucination as well. I couldn't see much other than my small wardrobe's door and my bed. The wardrobe door turned purple-white and started moving slowly, when i noticed a bill of some sort in front of me on the bed, i couldn't read the text on it. I also heard the child singing or something from further away, as her voice was quiet. It took around 1 minute to get out of paralysis finally. [Thanks to that child my plans for today's LD were ruined... i couldn't focus because when i'm terrified i just lose some of my control... ] [I wonder what that "Me so so?" question must've meant... maybe it was in another language, but it sounded exactly like "Me so so?"]

I went to sleep late last night, later than I meant to. It may be the cause of my WBTB being so vivid. Dream 1- Don't recall. Dream 2 - I was lying in a bed and getting ready to have sex with someone who lives down the street. That's all I want to say. Dream 3 - I am somewhere downtown, though I can't correlate my location to any known area. I have an appointment in a research building for some kind of evaluation. I kow it's something important but the paper I'm holding doesn't tell me what the test might be. Just an address which I can't read. The building is in front of me, perhaps 150 meters long and approximately 3 stories in height. Windows are visible which should tell me how many stories but I can't seem to figure out if it was two or three. I just know it was tall enough for a three story building. What stands out about this building is that every line, every edge of the building is colored in an electric purpley-magenta color, similar to an effect one might get from taking too many No-Doz and drinking a lot of caffeine and not eating for two days. It doesn't quite pulse but there is an alternating quality to the luminosity of the color. I never get close enough to the building to enter it and the dream ends. Dream 4- (WBTB after taking my daughter to school. Major Sleep Paralysis) I’m inside my house, in my living room, and I believe thetime to be around 4A.M. I hear a sharp noise outside, like a hammer bang, and Iassume it must be someone hammering in a campaign sign across the street at theschool like they do every time there is an election day coming up. I dismissthe noise initially, but then think it odd because it wasn’t repetitive and itdoesn’t usually occur at 4A.M. I look out the window to see what is going on, and notice it’sa bit bright for 4A.M. I decide to go outside and investigate myself. Across the street is the school, and right in front is aportable building which isn’t normally there. As I come around the corner ofthe building I can see the source of the noise. Standing by the wall of theportable is my neighbor from down the street, a fellow parent whose daughter isin the same grade as mine. She is holding a small pry-bar/hammer and has usedit to remove a six to eight foot long piece of sheet metal from the side of theportable. Why would she do that, I wonder, and then realize it is probably tocover up her windows from an impending tornado. This makes sense to me. I look around towards the nearby playground and see that alot of people are out and about for 4A.M. and the landscape is awfully brightas well. There is no apparent sun but the scene around me would suggestotherwise. Occasional patches of light and dark would dance over the ground, alternating places as my mind tried to decide if it was night or day. I think Isaw the moon at one point and confirmed it was night, just a very bright night, brighter than any night ever. The sky changed color a few times, from purplishto white, depending on my thoughts at the given moment. Knowing it was night I checked my watch to confirm, something I read about on the forum only yesterday. My watched show it was3:23A.M. so I knew I was right about it being night but I checked again and it nowsaid 3:29A.M. I knew that 6 minutes hadn’tpassed since I last looked at my watch so the test worked and I must bedreaming. Still, even this didn’t surprise me. I started to head back in the direction of my house, thoughI am still on the school property. Ahead I spot a group of kids on thesidewalk, and I recognize one of them as a friend of my daughter’s. As theyapproach the kids become recognizable, though I never give them names. All arelaughing and seem to not be able to stand still. “Does your mom know you’re out this late, C?” I ask the girlI know well. “No.” She says this matter-of-factly, and gestures to thesurroundings which are very bright. “She doesn’t care.” I know I’m dreaming but it doesn’t alter my parentalinstincts. “Go home!” I tell her, and the group leaves. They walk down thestreet and while I know she doesn’t live that way I accept her actions as ifthey were normal. Inside my house the TV is on, and Jen is sitting in theliving room. I look out the window to make sure everything hasn’t changedoutside. Indeed, the light is still there, though it seems to want to change todarkness because of my thoughts that say it is night. Patches of light and darkalternate prominence in my field of view. I want it to stay light out and mywill is strong enough to keep it so. “Do you see what I see?” I ask. I don’t tell her what I see because I don’t want to suggestan outcome and have the visual change at my suggestion. I can recognize that Iam able to control how it looks outside by thought. She indicates that she also sees the phenomena and that itseems rather unusual. In my mind it becomes unexplained and in need of ananswer. On the TV a weather announcer is displaying the currentradar picture for Austin and talking incessantly about the storms. A green massis displayed right over the city, and it swirls around in fast motion, too fastfor any normal storm. It seems to cover several counties in Central Texas. Storms and tornadoes in this area, the weatherman indicates, pointing to the green blob. I zoom in to the image and I don’t see anythingsevere indicated, which seems good, but I also don’t understand why we arehaving a tornado, and it seems like an odd weather event. Perhaps this is whyit’s bright outside, an unusual weather phenomenon. Again I look outside and while it remains bright, there isno rain, contradicting what is shown on the TV. I can’t explain this, and takeit as another weird sign. I wake up, and my body will not come to an alert level. Ihave the sleep paralysis and it takes me some minutes before I can move. When Ido it takes great effort to move my legs and hand. I feel like I have beenperforming vigorous activity in my sleep. A full 15 minutes pass before I evendecide to stay alert and awake.
After waking up and going back to sleep, I had a few of the same type of dream. I repeatedly tried to gain dream control because in the dream I was paralyzed. I have sleep paralysis normally, but just recently it's gotten involved in my actual dreams. Anyway, every time I would think I'd woken up in my bed and was unable to move. There were times it felt as if water was going into my ear, always my left, and all I could move was my hands. In one of the dreams I got up but could hardly move much more than grasping at the walls and hoping I didn't fall on the ground and end up with another false awakening. This is the part I'm somewhat proud of, I kept telling myself next time I have a dream with sleep paralysis all week that I would rub my hands together, I did it in this dream and it lasted longer than the others. I started out in my house and went down a long dark hallway that I knew I didn't have, but it too ended quite soon and I started up almost the exact same again. I opened my eyes and was in my bed, but I couldn't move. I remember this one better because it lasted a little longer and it was the last one before I actually did wake up. I closed my eyes for a few moments and attempted to begin to move when a hand reached out to for me. Finally getting to my feet I saw no one but I heard a male's voice saying "I want to help you fly." In most of my dreams where I have control, flying is what I want most. I felt him walk me down to the livingroom and decided not to take the front door because it was the middle of the night. If I wasn't dreaming, I would have gotten in trouble for opening it at that hour. We went through the garage and onto the back deck, ran cross it, jumped together and hovered for a moment. The guy I couldn't see was hugging me and I woke up. It's nothing I'm not used to, I find people in my dreams quite often. I used to have a reoccuring guy who would save my life on multiple occasions, but this felt like none of the ones I met before. He was comforting and gave off the feeling that I could trust him. I hadn't realized until I was fully awake that there was even someone there in the first place, but when I remembered that he was there it sort of confused me.
I had sleep paralysis once. It was when I awoke in the middle of the night from some kind of stressful dream, though I don't remember what the dream was about. The dream did stress me out to where I actually willed myself to wake up from it immediately. That was so cool, I became lucid in my dream and used my lucidity to wake up from the dream! I was awake in bed in the middle of the night, and I couldn't move, lol. So for about 30 seconds I'm lying there thinking so this is what sleep paralysis is. Good thing I heard about it before so I wasn't freaking out. I know I was still tired and it was the middle of the night, so I fell right back to sleep about a minute later. That was the first, and only, time I experienced sleep paralysis.
This was from my first night in Las Vegas, I fell asleep after finishing a bottle of champagne. #1 - My New Bathing Suit [Non-Lucid] This one was kind of odd, more like a visualization-induced non-lucid. At first I was just drifting off in bed, and I was thinking about walking around the hotel pool. We'd stayed there before so I know the area pretty well. In my imagination I was walking around in something like this, but like all black: At first I was just sort of wishing I had that kind of bathing suit, but as I got more and more tired the scene started to expand and suddenly I actually was walking around the pool in that suit. I wasn't lucid though, so I didn't really appreciate it. I remember thinking that I was supposed to be meeting up with some friends of mine, some random female DCs who were busy changing into their suits, but I got distracted by a food stand by the pool. I tried to get a hot dog, but they were out. :C I saw my dad lounging by the side of the pool and went over to him and asked him why there were no hot dogs, and he said that they ran out of meat. He got up and started walking off with me and I started complaining about the situation to him, but I don't remember much after that. I think I woke up not long afterward. #2 - Fading Phone [Non-Lucid] I had taken a bunch of downer drugs, and I specifically remember that Ativan and Xanax were two of them. I was partying all night, and I woke up the next morning while it was still dark outside. My dad was there and he asked me if I had gone anywhere while I was on the drugs, and I said no but joked that I couldn't be sure because I had blacked out. He looked concerned, and I layed down on the living room floor only for it to suddenly morph into the hotel room bed. Without changing position, I reached over to grab my phone and start typing up my dream. Suddenly, my dad gets up and walks over to my bed and is acting all emotional (I can't remember exactly what that means, but that's what I wrote down) My sheets are pulled up over my head by an unseen force, then my dad grabs my hands through the sheets. I'm overcome with a fear, and suddenly I realize this isn't happening. It's a very odd sensation to describe, it's kind of like... you're staring at the ceiling the whole time, and you're just really confused about what's going on, but it doesn't change the fact that you were just staring at the ceiling, it's just that you don't really understand it at first, so much that you think all this other stuff is happening, but then when you finally do, it still feels like that's all you were ever doing. Anyway.... I grab my phone again and start typing but it suddenly phases out of my hands, and I try a couple more times but it never works, so I give up. I have the actual feeling of being stuck, which is rare for me even in sleep paralysis, but I manage to shift my line of sight to the left. There's a faint light visible from something in the room, and as I stare at it it starts moving closer and growing and creating strange alien symbols, and I'm filled with a fear again, but then suddenly I snap out of it and am fully awake. #3 - Lucidly Non-Lucid Bad Trip [Non-Lucid] This was a terrible dream. :T I took Benadryl, or diphenhydramine, at a hallucinogenic dose. For those of you who don't know what that's like, basically it's sort of similar to non-lucid dreaming, only even more schizophrenically psychotic, and layered over waking reality at the same time. Actually, it can be sort of like the way I described the sleep paralysis, everything is just so unbelievably confusing that even though you're interacting with reality, you just interpret it allllll wrong. And so that was reproduced, accurately I might add, in the dream. And diphenhydramine is an unbelievably terrible experience, not to mention I know how bad it is for you and already had to overcome an addiction to it, so this was a nightmare. The worst part about this experience was that I believed I was in this dream-like trip, so I was paying extremely close attention to the dreamy nature of everything that was happening, and yet no matter how odd it was it couldn't tip me off to the fact that I was dreaming because it fit the scenario perfectly. My mindset was basically like being lucid of the fact that I was non-lucid, and it pushed my dream insanity to a whole new level. I was at my aunt and uncle's house and even my family members over there were becoming extremely confused at the bizarre and unexplainable things I was doing. Yes, I was so non-lucid that the DCs were confused. I can't remember much of the actual plot, though. ----- This dream was from the second night we were there, and I fell asleep after more drinking and taking some Soma (carisoprodol). Dream Fragment - I took a large dose of methoxetamine, which I've never taken in waking life, and ended up tripping out. I was in a classroom somewhere and someone was giving me a foot massage, and because of the drug it felt like my toes were floating off of their original spots and randomly switching places, which made me feel warm and giggly at the time. That's about all I can remember, though.
2/28/2012 I had my second WILD this morning! I found myself in SP and remembered to slowly relax (because the more you relax, the more powerful the vibrational sensations become, so if I relax too quickly the sensations will wake me up). I could hear my mother turn the hairdryer on in the other room (in real life- confirmed) while in SP. Awesome. I sort of experimented with my facial muscles again (tried to close my jaw until my teeth touched which worked and tried to open my eyes wide which didn't) before deciding to close my eyes and slip into the "drawing board stage." I thought about which scene to create. Star Wars? Nah. Under the ocean? Another time. I had made my decision. Earlier in the night I had dreamt about wanting pancakes, so I tried to make an IHOP personal buffet scene. Weirdly enough, I found myself in a fancy restaurant with my parents. We were all seated at a table and had some sort of mini buffet set up for us. I first observed this bowl of what apparently was pancake-flavored gelatto. I looked around at the beautiful restaurant. I looked at the window at the other side of the room and there was a tropical blue-green ocean shore outside. After picking up a spoon and eating some of the tasty gelatto, I remembered something I've been wanting to try. I demanded out loud, "Clarity Now!" Suddenly, I felt an amazing wind-like sensation as the entire dreamscape around me turned sharp and vivid and colorful and life-like! Beforehand, everything was dull, unclear, fuzzy, and unstable. It worked. Unfortunately, these WILD's only last a few minute since they occur in the morning, and I woke up instantly as I heard my mother open the door. I suddenly opened my eyes and was laying in my bed, the absence of vibrations leaving me with a strange sensation. At first, I thought I might still be in SP, but quickly learned I was fully awake and could move. During the middle of SP I again had a hypnogogic hallucination that my father tried to wake me up and thought I was joking about being in SP.
3/27/2012 I just had my first successful WILD attempt!!! I discovered and learned so much. See, I woke up around 11:50 or 12 and I observed that I had the ability to slip into sleep paralysis (because of the vibrations). I gently slipped into the state and took myself out of it a few times to get ready I guess (kind of like dipping your toes into a pool before jumping in), and then bravely allowed myself to become paralyzed (after thinking I turned onto my back, when to my surprise I found myself in the same side position as when I originally woke up when I opened my eyes through the sleep paralysis). So, here I was, paralyzed. There was no turning back now. After a while, I was brave enough to be able to let go and relax myself deeper into the powerful vibrations of sleep paralysis. At one point, I began to panic, trying to move, but then I told myself in my mind, "Okay, you've read about this.. you need to relax, you're not in danger." Or something alike that. Luckily, I listened to my own advice and finally let myself slip all the way into complete relaxation. After a while, I began to visualize myself in a dreamscape room and before I knew it, the room and the objects I was visualizing became real. I could hear the sound of the doorhandle and felt it as I turned it (I could see it, but with a lack of vividness since I didn't get to submerge completely into the dream and make it stable). In the newfound lucid dream I spoke to myself, kind of narrating what I wanted to do and what I wanted to exist in the scene. I naturally slipped out of it and managed to re-create the scene again. See, what I learned, is that the SP state is actually like a drawing board for lucid dreams. Whatever you're thinking about or imagining, your brain begins to form into a dream. You go through this muscular atonia every night, except this time, YOU guide the creation of dreams instead of it happening by random. I discovered that once you fully relax past the powerful vibrational sensations of SP, those sensations become more gentle and relaxing, like a deep meditation. Thoughts drift, which is exactly what happened to me. I accidentally found myself thinking about Star Wars, and found myself in a brief non-lucid dreamscape about Second Life roleplay. I drifted out of it though. Overall, this experience has been mind-opening for me. It was INCREDIBLE. Time to make use of the SP I often get.
My dreams last night were kind of scattered and hazy, most of them are hard to remember. I can't say it wasn't an interesting night, though! #1 - Ice Cream Parlor [Non-Lucid] At first I was driving down a road somewhere, and I saw this guy J from public school walking down the sidewalk at one point. After that it gets hazy, and then I remember being at an ice cream parlor and trying to get the cake-flavored ice cream, and they put in about a scoop and a half of it but then also put a scoop of mint on top, which I did not ask for. I did ask for sprinkles on it though, which they didn't put on. I was a bit concerned at the time, but I got distracted by a woman who looked like Jane from the newest Fun with Dick and Jane movie (Téa Leoni), but she was in tears and saying that that's not who she is. #2 - Escape To The Other Reality [DILD] I don't really remember the dream leading up to this, just the part where I became lucid, except it was more like a low semi-lucidity because I knew I was dreaming and had the clearing of brain fog that comes with lucidity but it didn't stop me from being pretty delirious. I became lucid in my room and decided that my reality (the dream) was closing in on me and trying to destroy me or something, so I decided to get in bed and go to sleep to escape to the "other reality". I guess maybe that was a really skewed way of interpreting the dream ending and wanting to wake up, for some reason? False Awakening - I woke up in my bed as a result of going to bed in the lucid, and it was extremely vivid, probably the most vivid non-lucid I've ever had, and maybe because I actually intended it to happen coming from a lucid. It felt exactly like real life, not even that dream feeling that comes with the extremely vivid lucids was there. I was laying belly-down in bed, and I'm pretty sure I felt somebody grab my ass. However, the vividness didn't last long, the dream turned into a wonky mix of first- and third-person action camera perspectives and involved an intense Pokémon battle. Though I was aware that I was playing a new Pokémon spin-off game and could see it from time to time, I was still mostly seeing the battle happen in front of me, though it was very cartoony. I was trying to defeat and/or catch a Charmander, though somewhere down the line it became a Bulbasaur. I also remember using my own Charmander, a Squirtle, and a Pikachu in the battle against it, and I remember reading on the game screen that I also had an Arcanine on my team. I finally beat the Bulbasaur in the end (can't remember if I caught it), and then I stuck to the game screen and looked at my team, noticing that the other Pokémon on my team (I can't remember if there was a sixth, or if it was that Bulbasaur if there was) was a Doduo with a move called Universe Cannon. However, it had 0 BP (which I think means 0 PP). I really liked this dream, first of all because it involved a Pokémon battle , and second because it had tons of text that I could read perfectly clearly. :3 Dream Fragment - "Crime rates somewhere go down, and something about drinking certain cocktails." Dream Fragment - "Walking around my house which is actually school, leaving a weird class with stars and to speaking to sea and space goddesses, then start looking for my English class or something after getting all my backpack stuff packed up." #3 - Trapped In My Bed [Non-Lucid] As I was falling asleep, I started hearing quick, loud collision noises, and then I started feeling my body fading away. I really wasn't prepared for this hypnagogic stuff so it kind of startled me out of my trance, and then I just fell asleep normally. There was a dream leading up to this, but I don't remember what it was. I think I intended to write it down at some point, but forgot about it after this. I woke up into sleep paralysis, like the real sleep paralysis where you wake up and can't move, not the one people talk about to refer to hypnagogic hallucinations. I was extremely confused and noticed that I had double and triple vision at some point, things were spinning a bit, and it felt like I was closing one of my eyes to help myself see. (I didn't understand what was going on, so given my previous history with sleep paralysis it was more likely that one of my eyes just opened and the other didn't really.) Because of this and the super dreamy feeling everything had, I assumed I had taken DXM. The entire time with was going on, I could hear "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys playing in the background of my mind somewhere. I tried getting up to go to my computer and message O about how I was tripping, and I got half way through the message, which was REALLY hard to do given my vision and everything shaking and feeling a strange gravity and brain fog, and suddenly I started realizing that half way though my messaging it had just started turning into gibberish. I got concerned, and then I looked closer and realized that I was still lying in bed. I did that a few times, and then I recognized this pattern of thinking something's going on, suddenly it gets really confusing, and then realizing it wasn't even happening - from anticholinergic deliriants. I stated to fear that I had taken diphenhydramine (Benadryl) too, and that I was now on a DXM/DPH combo, which is NOT something I need to be doing. I entered a sort of despair and just managed to close my eyes and watched patterns quickly form from the blackness, and as they grew and approached me I started feeling really intense and really uncomfortable vibrations. I probably could've entered an OBE from this state if I wanted to, but the fear overtook me and shook me out of the sleep paralysis. *phew*
DreamLucidAwake Short Lucid Dream I was driving a car through the mountains of West Virginia. There's not really much to say about the drive other than the scenery was beautiful. I became lucid during the drive when I noticed that I was sitting on the right side of the car. The driver's seat is supposed to be on the left. As I was thinking about all the things I could do now that I was lucid, I drove by a massive car wreck. There were over 20 cars blocking the road on the left. I decided to get out of the car so I could check it out. For some reason I felt like an alien was responsible for it, and I wanted to have an encounter with the alien. Right when I started walking towards the cars, my vision started blurring. I realized that I had forgotten to stabilize and panicked. I tried rubbing my hands together, hitting the ground, and even licking the road. It slowed down the wake up process, but it wasn't going to improve anything. I then decided to just lay back and hope for a DEILD attempt. Failed DEILD Attempt When I woke up, I only moved around a little bit before remembering to DEILD. I layed still and went into a sleep paralysis. I could feel my body locking up and hear a loud static sound. My vision then looked fuzzy as if the tv was on the wrong channel. I then started to wonder what would happen if I tried using Daydream Awareness during this. I started daydreaming about my room for some reason. It soon felt like I was being sucked into the picture of my daydream. Eventually the feeling of my body being squeezed to death was a little much for me. I decided to cancel the attempt and break out of it. I had apparently made it into a dream, but I never realized it. I didn't think I was dreaming because I had broken out of sleep paralysis and everything looked so real. As I'm thinking about my failed attempt and what went wrong, a man runs into my room with my cat. He threw that cat onto my feet and the cat started biting and clawing my foot. I started flailing around and tried to kick him off. The last thing I remember of this dream is throwing him off my foot and into a wall. End

NON-LUCID LUCID Identification: (No. 78) Summoning attempt Time Recorded: 9:00, 31-01-2012 Genre: Ordinary Character(s): Gavin D. Method(s): Mantra Lucid: Yes (DILD) I am sitting in my bedroom, at my desk, looking at a series of written messages on a single sheet of paper. For each paragraph there is an illustration on the right, of a lady dressed in 3-century-old clothing, from various angles. I somehow realise that I am dreaming and become lucid. I stand up from my desk chair and walk towards my door, thinking about what I should do. I get the impulse to summon someone. I look away, thinking to myself that someone will be there when I look back. I fall on my clothes drawer and lie there. I can hear Gavin's quiet feint voice, calling my name. I believe that Gavin is going to come here and wake me up. I start to loose the dream, so I try concentrating on the dream again, but it is too late.
